The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism saw a record turnout for its annual golf event fundraiser last Thursday, August 6th. Up from 122 registrants last year, a remarkable 142 people signed up for Thursday's event at the Owatonna Country Club.
Doherty Staffing Solutions was the lead sponsor for the event, and Vice President Gauher Mohammad participated with some of his customers. Mohammad was featured in a news article by the Owatonna People's Press focusing on the strong shared interest between Doherty and the Chamber: supporting the local workforce.
(From the article:) “One of the things about our company is we do truly believe in supporting the chamber, because they do represent the interests of the business community,” Mohammad said.
On the same subject, chamber president Jennifer Libby commented, “It’s one of our larger fundraisers. ... The more money we can raise, the more we can do in areas like workforce development, which is a big priority for us.”
