Doherty Participates in National Wear Red Day

National Wear Red Day

Doherty celebrated National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 3rd. Employees were encouraged to wear red to help raise awareness for heart disease and stroke prevention. An employee fundraiser is running throughout February, and at the end of the month Tim and Val Doherty will match the total employee donations.

Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Fortunately, we have the power to change that because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. The American Heart Association website offers resources on how to raise awareness in your personal lives. Please take a moment to visit their website and read about Heart Disease, Know Your Risk, Get Involved, and Live Healthy!

Heart-healthy snacks were provided to employees in the lunch room.
